Wednesdays With...Whitney!

Oh hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. 

Shit, it’s been like two years since I’ve done one of these.

I could probably come up with some excuse for why Wednesdays With Andrew went dark, but honestly, I just kind of stopped doing it. Life got busy, other things took over, and eventually enough time passed that I fell out of the habit. I am so sorry, will you ever forgive me?!?!?

But the break is over. Don't call it a comeback, but baby we're coming back. At least for this one. 

I found myself sitting after hours in my good friend Whitney’s coffee shop in Kingfield, Maine, drinking local beer, listening to punk rock, and talking absolute nonsense with one of my silliest friends, and it suddenly seemed like a pretty good time to push 'record.' Whitney and I have known each other for something like 20 years, and she was actually on the show once before, way back in 2018, along with my wife Tessie, when the three of us drank an irresponsible quantity of cider. Eight years later, here we are, slightly older and presumably wiser (although the evidence for the latter is pretty thin).

Whitney moved to Kingfield, a quaint little mountain town near Sugarloaf ski resort, a few years back, and she had the absolute uterus to open Marmee Dearest last year. Guys, her spot is fucking cool. It’s a coffee shop, obviously, but it’s also a gathering place....a place for people to bump into each other, hang out, play D&D, swap clothes, look at local art, talk shit, and generally be around other human beings. 

After hearing all about how Whitney built the place and then actually seeing the way people in town have taken to it, I wanted to sit down with her, crack some beers, put on some punk (and punkish!) tunes, and talk about all of it. So that’s what we did. And so here we are.....welcome to the latest episode of Wednesdays With Andrew.
